Classic Daiquiri

Classic Daiquiri

You’re probably familiar with a frozen daiquiri, but did you know that the original daiquiri was served straight up?

Before sugary flavoring and over-the-top garnishes got involved, there was the original daiquiri. The image of sophisticated simplicity, this classic cocktail is designed to highlight the rum it's made with, which is why it's a perfect match for Palm Republic's award-winning Caribbean rum.

The story goes that Jennings Cox, an American engineer living in Cuba invented the drink as rum’s answer to the martini after he ran out of gin while entertaining guests one evening. That night, a classic was born.
