Rum Julep

Rum Julep

For our play on the julep, we've eschewed the traditional tin for a simple rocks glass, and skipped the bourbon to use our Aged rum instead. The result is a sort of robust mojito, with the same refreshing elements, but just a bit more depth and bite. We love to enjoy this one after a long summer day, as the sun sets and day turns into night.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Palm Republic Aged Rum
  • 8 mint leaves
  • 1/4 ounce simple syrup

Garnish (Optional):

  • Mint Sprig

Glassware:

  • Julep cup or rocks glass

Instructions:

  1. Lightly muddle together the mint leaves and simple syrup.
  2. Add Palm Republic Aged Rum and pack your glass tightly with crushed ice.
  3. Stir until the outside of the cup is frosted.
  4. Top with more crushed ice, creating a dome, and garnish with a mint sprig.
